Spero Chamber Chorale is a professional vocal ensemble based in Springfield, Illinois.

These days, hope seems in short supply.  As musicians, we sometimes feel powerless to make a change in this world.  We aren’t politicians, soldiers, or scientists.  We aren’t clergy, or poets, or philosophers.  Yet what we do have, we can give:  Beauty, Truth, Inspiration, HOPE.  The word spero means “I hope” in Latin, and it is the mission of the Spero Chamber Chorale to bring tangible HOPE to our community, through the medium of choral song.  The members of Spero are all accomplished singers and musicians, yet hail from various walks of life - teachers, professionals, moms, and dads.  A love of great choral music brings us together, and an urge to give back pushes us toward excellence.

Whether the simplicity of a favorite folk tune, the complex mathematical beauty of polyphony, or the lush textures of modern styles, our concerts are meant to delight, inspire, and encourage a world in desperate need of HOPE.  Join us!
